The two companies have been building arenas and tracks for decades and have a wealth of experience with surface manufacture. Hugh Daly owned Softrack Surfaces, and in 2010, became a shareholder and director of the Martin Collins group.
Dan Carr is a distinguished leader in the equestrian industry, known for his visionary approach and transformative impact over nearly three decades. He began his career managing golf courses, where he gained expertise in grass management and the interplay between performance and functionality, later applying this knowledge to equestrian surface management.
Dan is renowned for his commitment to innovative and safe footing solutions, having developed ArenaMend, an eco-friendly footing mixture designed to enhance horse safety and performance. His work has set a global standard in equestrian facility design and construction, with projects in France, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East. Dan has also played a crucial role in organising prestigious equestrian events, including the Palm Beach Masters Series.
Dan Carr and Alexandra Hallmark bring their NoviunTM Fibre brand of natural fibres and surface additives to the UK, Europe and Asia. Equus brings its UK and international build capabilities and expertise for arena and facility design and build.
Equus adds a new dimension by having a complete range of state-of-the-art machinery, in house design team and a quality surveying department to detail every part of arena and track build, surrounds, landscaping, roads, CCTV and a whole host of other specialist equestrian knowledge. Equus plans and completes full planning permissions for arena and gallop build singularly or as part of a holistic equestrian design.
